Director of Human Resources & Administration

The Director of Human Resources & Administration will play a critical role in modernising the human resources vision, framework, policies and procedures for the Conservative Party of Canada team. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely across the senior management team this individual will champion for every area of human resources management including strategic planning, organizational development, policy development and execution, faculty and staff relations, recruitment and retention, health & safety, and compensation and benefits. In addition to human resources, this individual will manage a variety of other corporate services including office administration, facilities, travel and logistics. To address the challenges of today and tomorrow, the successful candidate will bring significant leadership experience in all aspects of human resources management and will already understand what a high performing, diverse, multi-stakeholder organization looks like. A track record of success managing additional administrative responsibilities would be a very strong asset. This role requires a proactive self-starter who values structure and process, but also knows that hard work always leads to success and is willing to always strive for excellence. On the road to 2015, the quest for victory is one that takes a determination no other political party in Canada can match. Qualifications and Experience: A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or another relevant area of study. An advanced degree in a relevant discipline would be considered an asset, as would a CHRP designation. A proven track record of 5 to 10 years of progressive human resources management, preferably in a multi-stakeholder environment. Extensive experience working with senior executives, committees and governing bodies. A solid understanding of human resources trends, issues and challenges, as well as current industry standards and practices. A commitment to stay up to date on new and emerging HR trends and training. Experience leading HR projects related to employment policies, job classification, compensation/benefits and employee recognition programs is paramount. Bilingualism will be considered an asset.
