PRESS RELEASE
To: From: RE: All News Media, Agencies, and other interested parties Kokopellis Owners Let’s set the record true

START: WE HAVE REMAINED SILENT TO RESPECT THE TROY POLICE DEPARTMENT AS THEY CONDUCT THEIR “INTERNAL INVESTIGATION”. HOWEVER, WE CAN NO LONGER DO SO BECAUSE THEIR INVESTIGATION IS BEING USED AS A MECHANISM TO SPIN A STORY, USING PUBLIC MEDIA TO PROTECT THE DEPARTMENT FROM ALLEGATIONS OF POLICE BRUTALITY AND VIOLATIONS OF CIVIL RIGHTS. OUR TAPES, WHICH WE HAVE RELEASED AND ARE AVAILABLE TO ALL NEWS MEDIA, CLEARLY SHOW THAT WHILE A SCUFFLE ERRUPTED AS WE WERE USHERING PATRONS OUT OF THE BUILDING, HAVING SHUT THE EVENT DOWN AT APPROXIMATELY 2:15 AM, OUR SECURITY STAFF HAD ALREADY EXITED THOSE WHO CAUSED THE SCUFFLE AND RE-ESTABLISHED ORDER. BY THE TIME THE POLICE ARRIVED (AT APPROXIMATELY 2:48 AM), AFTER THE INITIAL 911 CALL FROM OUR STAFF (AT 2:37AM), OUR BUILDING WAS SECURED AND NO PATRON OR STAFF WERE PHYSICALLY VIOLENT; BUT WERE EXITING THE BUILDING AFTER GETTING THEIR CHECKED COATS. WE HAVE BEEN INVITED BY THE TROY CITY COUNCIL TO MAKE A STATEMENT AT THEIR PUBLIC MEETING NEXT TUESDAY AND WE WILL PROVIDE DETAILED TESTIMONY THEN. END: SUPPORT DOCUMENTATION: VIDEO TAPE: CAMERA 1, 15, 2 RUNNING TIME FROM APP 2:42 AM THRU 2:47 AM (These views clearly show the behavior of the patrons and staff; and the police as they entered the building and the street outside in front of Kokopellis). Contact Barry Glick (518) 229-7933 – primary or Joseph Glick (518) 857-5186
