An Alabama Snowfall

By Elton Camp That it was coming, we well knew There wasn’t much preparation to do Just to rush down to the grocery store Buy all the bread and milk as before Contrary to the usual weather rule The snow began right on schedule But it proved worse than we’d feared To all the roads and street it adhered As the temperature continued to drop All of the highway traffic came to a stop There were fender-benders galore orse than we’d ever seen before !ighway with stalled cars were littered The motorist frightened and embittered "t was an unusual set of weather trials Taking hours to go only a few miles "n offices, workers had to spend the night The kids caught at school to their delight The situation was bi#arre and unreal ith snow we don’t know how to deal

Snow, stay up north where you belong!
