Bug of the Week

Bible Memory
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11
(We will say our verse on Thursday.)

Next Week

Bible: We will be learning about Jesus calming the storm. We will relate the story to how Jesus calms the storms in our lives and how He is there to calm and comfort us. Math: We will be learning about time (telling time to the hour and half hour). The following week we will begin learning about money (specifically coins). If you have time to sort coins and talk about them at home it would be great as it is hard for the children to tell the difference between the coins. Science: We will study the characteristics of water. Reading: We will be reading stories about Valentines Day. Handwriting We will be reviewing how to write the basement letters j, p, g, q, and y. We will continue to practice writing our last names. Please also be working on this at home with your child.

Other Important Information

Our Valentines Day Party is on Thursday, February 13. At the party, the children will hand out Valentine cards to their classmates. Please do not put their classmates names on the envelopes or valentines. Just sign your childs name on the valentines. They are much easier to pass out if they do not have their classmates names on them. Each child will need to bring in 14 valentines for their fellow classmates. (There will also be optional bags for Mrs. Porter and Miss Burkitt.)
