Join them in a circle as directed, and fold the inner parts upward inside out to form petals.

There is a video tutorial on this online at, but it includes all five motifs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pG3330VMNGY

Borders
All borders begin with the usual ch 3 in place of trc or dc. I do not specify this. Special tr decrease--yo hook twice insert into next stitch as if to crochet, draw up a loop, skip THREE stitches, insert hook into fourth stitch, draw up a loop, yo, and crochet off 2 loops at a time. (Thank you to becsfiberfetish) Border Shaping Decrease Row--It makes a nice effect if you do this in the back loop of the previous row. Begin over corner stitch (the first stitch of the second 12 trebles area that made the leaves of the clover). *5 trc in corner st, trc in next 2 st, dc in next st, hdc in next 3 st, dc in next st, trc in next 2 st, special decrease stitch, trc in next 2 st, dc in next st, hdc in next 3 st, dc in next st, trc in next 2 st* Repeat 3 times more and join with sl st to beg. Tie off. Border MC--Begin in the center trc of a corner *5 trc into corner stitch, trc in next st, dc in next 3 st, hdc in next 15 st, dc in next 3 st, trc in next 3 st* Repeat 3 times more and join sl st to beginning. Tie off. Border CC--Begin count two stitches away from the corner (don't count corner stitch), (ch 3 and dc) in same st, sk 1, 5 dc in corner stitch, sk 1, 2 dc in next st, sk 1. Continue 2 dc and sk1 around, with 5 dc into corner st. Join with a sl st in top of beg ch-3 and tie off. Border BC--dc around with 5 dc in corners. Alternately, you could sc or hdc depending on how wide you need this border to be.
