Great Expectations

By Natasha Call

Birth. Front seat on the roller coaster of life Children’s innocence destroyed prematurely Waking hours full of separation and strife Parents away to make their existence pearly Adult responsibilities no later than age three Days filled with strangers tying their laces No. For children the tremulous ride isn’t free Expecting all the more of their parents’ faces What do children unfortunately learn to expect? A bumpy ride, no explanation and gifts to make up What should children have confidence to expect? Together time. Parents never give their seat up Joy. A ride parents and children greatly appreciate Enhancing positive success of the next generation The miracle of creation. Parents it isn’t too late Together you’re creating the outcome of a nation
