Living in the Past

Living in the Past By: Jake Erkens Front stood one door a path led to the past to life-its

inner core where past was not, as it lasts Regret held in man’s hand hath barren wishful thinking Though the past he wish true is but a wasteful longing Dear to heart was his love but death hath stole his joyful soul Though he doth not know she lives above A joyful heart he was, now tis a down-hearted fool In need he was for a cure, in past he was soon consumed Quick to rage as he aged life a blur His future broken down by his past Engraved now his name on the cold stone ohers share neither one tear nor sorrow in the ground he lies, lone Dark hath become day as is his morrow! © 2009
