Future forms: Going to / Will

We use “will”:


To talk about future facts
 The President will serve for four years.

If we are not so certain about the future,
using with expressions such as 'probably', 'possibly', 'I think', 'I hope'.
 I hope you'll visit me in my home one day.

For a prediction based on past experience or knowledge , especially in predictive
conditionals.
• We’ll do okay if the test isn’t too difficult.

At the moment of making a decision.
• That’s the phone ringing. ~ I’ll get it!

We use “going to”:

For a future prediction based on what we feel or think now.
 Be careful! You're going to spill your coffee.

 For a decision already made.

• I’ve decided I’m going to get a new phone.
