Gas Operations is focused on ensuring the safe and reliable flow of natural gas to our customers. As a whole, Gas Operations is responsible for all aspects of PG&E's gas distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, restoration and emergency response.
Position Summary

The Continuous Improvement Intern, in collaboration with his/her internship team, will work with the Gas Operations Transmission Operations and Maintenance (O&M) organization to improve the valve maintenance process. One of the key maintenance activities performed by the Transmission O&M group is valve maintenance. Per CPUC (California Public Utilities Commission) compliance requirement, we are required to perform annual maintenance on all emergency valves. Every valve on our Gas Transmission system is defined as emergency valve because of their critical function of controlling gas flow in our high-pressure Transmission pipeline system and thus requires annual maintenance. CPUC has been focusing on verifying valve maintenance records during their audits and pockets of non-compliance have been found previously. In order to ensure full compliance going forward, a sustainable, consistent, repeatable end-to-end process needs to be designed to support the volume of valve maintenance. This process needs to
