Penguin Santa Ornament By Etha Schuette Crafty Cruisers Intermediate Stamping Team During the holidays, these penguins

dress up as Santa, break holes in the Arctic ice and see who can make the prettiest snowflake patterns. I caught them do just that and froze the playful moment to make some ornaments. Supplies: Penguin Santa Stamp (Stamps Happen #20151) Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad (Tsukineko) Card Stock: Dark Blue linen (Archivers) White (Wasau) Broken china Papers: Silver Shimmer paper (Clear Artistic Stamps)

Self Adhesive Hologram foil (Kars) Copic Alcohol markers: (Imagination International) B12 Ice Blue B23 Phthalo Blue C3 Cool Gray No. 3 C4 Cool Gray No. 4 E53 Raw Silk R14 Light Rouge R29 Lipstick Red Y11 Pale Yellow Lacé template #8 (Lacé) Craft knife with #16 blade (Excel) Large silver brads (We R Memory Makers) Silver ribbon (Hirschberg Schutz) Dark blue pearlized raffia (Clear Artistic Stamps) Puffy Velvet fabric marker (Marvy) Heat tool (Milwaukee) Removable tape (Plane Class) Pop dots (All Night Media) Glue (Penwa) Instructions: 1. Using black ink, stamp Penguin Santa 4 times on white card stock and color with markers referring to photo. Add puffy velvet to hat trim and heat to puff. Cut out penguins and set aside. 2. Adhere 5.5 inch square of hologram foil paper to silver shimmer paper and smooth out wrinkles. With shimmer paper side up, adhere Lacé template with removable tape. Use a #16 blade to cut template with medium to heavy pressure. Designer's Tip: When cutting with a metal template, always start your cut in a point or corner and move outwards. This way, all your fine points/corners will be precision cut and won’t need “help” afterwards. 3. Fold template as shown tucking under the points. The hologram side is your front. 4. Cut out center and outside following the star shape and leaving a small rim. 5. Glue star shape onto dark blue card stock. Only apply adhesive to the inner and outer parts, not the folded parts! Cut out blue card stock leaving a thin border and two points top and bottom for brads.

6. Add two penguins as shown in photo. Use small pop dots on the front penguin for dimension. 7. Add two silver brads top and bottom and use pearlized raffia and silver ribbon for a hanger on top and tassle on the bottom. 8. Repeat steps 2 to 6 for the other side of the ornament. For fun, use the “back side” of your folded template for a slightly different appearance, see picture below! All cutting is done the same, just fold from the other side so that the hologram paper again is on the outside and inside rim of your star.
