Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Hulday – by fax
City Council Members – by email
RE: Legal Department’s Feb 6, 2014 letter in re: OccupyTLV
camp (no reference number)
Dear Mayor Hulday and Council Members:
The letter, referenced above, by the Legal Department, fails to
address the following:
1) The false representation of flyers as “Demolition Decrees” or
“Eviction Decrees”, to individuals of little education, little
understanding of the Hebrew language, and/or other handicaps.
2) The arbitrary, capricious, and discriminatory enforcement of the
cited Municipality Ordinance and the purported violations of the
Permit for the OccupyTLV camp.
For example, the following were exempt from actions by
Municipality inspectors:
a) An Iraqi Muslim family, designated by Municipality Inspectors as
“State Persons”, who have nothing to do with the OccupyTLV
permit, and who built in the camp structures that are far from
“tents”.
b) A Municipality/law enforcement implant, Uriel Benveniste –
former policeman, former prisoner, a violent person against whom
a restraining order prohibiting him from the camp was issued but
not enforced – was and is permitted to maintain structures that are
far from “tents”, and include locked doors, explicitly prohibited by
the inspectors relative to others.
Likewise, the claim that the homeless shelters, which were
demolished by the Municipality, constituted “permanent structures”,
is unreasonable, since such structures were demolished within
minutes without the need for any special equipment.
Conduct by the Municipality should be deemed violations of
Human rights under the color of law.
