Ohio University Student Arrested for Trafficking in Cocaine and Marijuana
Cory Bohache, 21, of Athens, Ohio, was arrested on February 25, 2014, by the Athens Police Department and investigators with the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office without incident. Bohache was indicted by an Athens County Grand Jury on February 24, 2014, in case number 14CR0066, for one (1) count of Trafficking in Cocaine, a felony of the first degree; one (1) count of Trafficking in Marijuana, a felony of the fourth degree; and one (1) count of Possession of Cocaine, a felony of the third degree. In an effort to curb drug trafficking in Athens County, the Athens Police Department, Ohio University Police Department, and the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office took on the joint operation. Prosecutor Blackburn reports that “on January 18, 2014, Bohache sold 29.09 grams of Cocaine and 14.65 grams of Marijuana to a confidential informant. Bohache lives within 1000 feet of a school. A search warrant found an additional twenty-seven (27) grams of Cocaine. Both drugs were sent to BCI for testing and it was confirmed that the drugs sold were in fact Cocaine and Marijuana.” Bohache is scheduled to make his initial appearance tomorrow, February 26, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. in front of Judge George P. McCarthy. This case was investigated by the Athens Police Department, Ohio University Police Department, and the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office.
