In 2009, as a junior in high school, Jessica became an important asset in starting the first Youth LULAC chapter at Lamar

High School. Fighting adversity Youth Council #1104 was established and became a very well-known organization in Arlington, TX. That year Jessica was awarded Member of the Year by the District XXI leadership.

In 2010, a senior in high school, Jessica was elected historian of council #1104 and later became president of the council as presidential leadership declined. Jessica won Outstanding Scrapbook of the Year and LULAC Young Woman of the Year at all three LULAC levels: District, State and Nationals.

In 2011, Jessica was elected LULAC Texas State Director for the Youth. As Director for the youth, not only did she increase the number of Youth Councils but overall she increased the engagement and participation of the Youth.

With an extensive LULAC background up to this present day, Jessica continues to fight alongside LULAC leaders and local activist to fight for equal rights.
