To set up the triangle on the right side, Player 5 sets a screen for Player 2, who then moves to the wing. Player 1 passes to Player 2 and immediately goes to the ball-side corner.

Player 5 is already in position in the low post after setting the screen for Player 2. The three players form the triangle with each player 15 to 20 feet apart, creating the essential spacing to stretch out the defense. The primary option is to pass the ball to Player 5, who is already near the basket and in position for a close shot.

If there is no shot, Player 5 can pass to Player 1 or 2, who can shoot from the outside or drive to the basket. Another option is for Player 5 to pass to Player 1 or 2 on a cut. If a defender tries to double-team Player 5 and thus gives up the 15 to 20 feet of space, Player 1 or 2 will be open for a shot. Players 3 and 4 are engaged in a two-player game on the weak side with Player 4 in the high post and Player 3 at the top of the key.
