About the Men for the Cure Foundation

The Men for the Cure Foundation, which was brought under the wing of the University of Colorado Hospital Foundation in 2010, has been raising money for breast cancer treatment and research since 2000. The Men for the Cure Foundation has collected more than $1 million during its annual Gentlemens Dinner to benefit the Diane OConnor Thompson Breast Center at the University of Colorado Hospital, which was renamed in 2007 in honor of the Men for the Cure Foundation co-founder Jeff Thompsons late wife Diane OConnor Thompson. Thus far, proceeds from the event have been used to provide support services to patients and their families and purchase much-needed equipment, including a digital radiography system for specimen analysis. Funds also support research and early detection initiatives.

The Men for the Cure Foundation Gentlemens Dinner has brought together a variety of high-profile guests and honorary chairmen in support of a common cause. Past honorary chairmen have included former NFL quarterback John Elway and Colorado Governor Bill Ritter. Last year, Denver Broncos head coach John Fox spoke at the event.
