By Elton Camp Don bought a tool at the hardware store Then found his car wouldn’t start anymore A cold front was quickly moving in He had an urgent job he must begin Since it’d be dark in an hour or two He decided what would be best to do He walked out to the big highway “ ’ll hitchhike home!" he did say Holding the new tool in his hand! Ho#efully at the road he did stand $ith his thumb e%tended into the air &%#ecting some kind soul would care 'ut no matter how hard he did try All the cars went on rushing by “ sure wish somebody would sto# (or! at home! ’ve got wood to cho#)"
