Katie Vale @ Harvard University: (12:16) faculty and courses were the customers, we were the "salespeople" GregoryDobbin: (12:17) Were the redesigns for all teaching modes (F2F, blended...)? Katie Vale @ Harvard University: (12:17) no, f2f only so far, but now we are expanding for HarvardX and other initiatives beyond undergrad Bobby White @ California College of the Arts: (12:17) This is so awesome! California State University Digital Ambassadors Program: Empowering Leadership and Innovation in Academic Technologies and Faculty Development

Michael Paskevicius @ Vancouver Island University: (12:19) Wondering how this is different from an issue tracking system or ticket system? Also wondering how many other universities use systems such as these to manage faculty engagement? Katie Vale @ Harvard University: (12:19) we don't know of anyone else using crm for instructional support Katie Vale @ Harvard University: (12:20) our ticketing system (servicenow) didn't seem to have the right affordances for this Michael Paskevicius @ Vancouver Island University: (12:20) Thank you Katie, ill need to take a deeper dive with Salesforce to see whats possible. Katie Vale @ Harvard University: (12:21) sure, feel free to follow up with us anytime Jessica Parker @ Sonoma State University: (12:26) http://teachingcommons.cdl.edu/ngss/digital/index.html

Annemarie Haar @ California College of the Arts: (12:30) Question for Katie & Aimee during questions session: can you talk more about how you use the integrated data in salesforce? both in the short-term, during the course, and long-term, after the course when you are running reports? Katie Vale @ Harvard University: (12:31) sure, Aimee will cover that Karla Berry @ Southern Illinois Univ at Carbondale: (12:34) How are Digital Ambassadors selected?

Team Approach to Faculty Development: Integrating Full-Time and Adjunct Faculty Development Efforts Malcolm Brown: (12:39) question for everyone: is the approach you take for adjunct faculty different from the approach for tenure track faculty? Lara Madden @ University of Alaska Anchorage: (12:41) At our dept we don't differentiate, all instructors are welcome to engage in training opps Malcolm Brown: (12:44) on the issue of combining units: some of that depends on institutional culture. The Harvard approach is separate but coordinate efforts closely with the CRM ELI145Attendee2@hmc.edu @university: (12:47) did I hear 600 adjunct faculty? just to make sure... SNHU: (12:47) What happens to the 21 who did not complete? GregoryDobbin: (12:48) He said ~650 adjuncts. @todd_conaway: (12:48) Question for Michael, can we see the actual course? is it available to the public? Lara Madden @ University of Alaska Anchorage: (12:49) Is the training program written into adjunct contracts or are they doing this outside of their teaching hours? Reta Chaffee @ Granite State College: (12:49) Do your adjuncts choose textbooks and develop course syllabi, or are those given to them? Malcolm Brown: (12:50) Time issues are indeed huge Malcolm Brown: (12:51) That might be why retreat-style development opportunities are helpful, to set aside time to focus Marsha Orr @ Cal State University, Fullerton: (12:51) Is the online course required for adjuncts to be able to teach or is it voluntary? Veronica Diaz: (12:52) thanks for all the great questions everyone, I'm collecting them for speakers

Lee Henrikson @ University of Alaska Anchorage: (12:53) For the Community and Technical College at UAA, I developed a website for adjunct faculty that includes a semester planner. It is based on Old Dominion's sitehttp://www.uaa.alaska.edu/adjuncts/orientation Linda Futch @ University of Central Florida: (12:55) ....a little detail on the faculty first year course? Thomas CareySan Diego State University: (12:56) question for Hanley: is the program funded from a grant or ongoing funds (and if the latter, is that central $ or institutional $)? Lee Henrikson @ University of Alaska Anchorage: (12:56) Old Dominion's site: http://clt.odu.edu/adjunct/ Q&A IDS @ CSU, San Marcos: (12:57) Question for Michael:How many hours do you estimate it takes the adjuncts to complete your program? Faculty Development @ NIU: (13:03) could you put it on CourseSites? @todd_conaway: (13:03) Funny how we talk about all our ideas but often they are very hard to actually see them.... Mike Bates @ Harper College: (13:04) 12-24 hours total to complete Angela Hammons @ Missouri Univ, Science and Tech: (13:04) you can export the course and create a zipped package and anyone who has Bb can open it in their Bb instance as a course Kevin Guidry @ University of Delaware: (13:05) Faculty confidentiality has long been a strong and essential value for faculty developers. How do we balance that with a need/desire for more detailed, sharable data e.g., CRM shared across multiple units? Mike Bates @ Harper College: (13:06) That is a great idea Angela.I will work with your Center for Innovative Instruction to do so..but as Kevin indicated, I do want to keep faculty info confidential Mike Bates @ Harper College: (13:06) my Center...sorry\ Gerard Hanley @ Cal State Univ, Office of the Chancellor: (13:07) Q about funding of Digital Ambassadors program: I fund the DA's from central funding as "foundation funding" but we will also be getting addtional funds from grants that would enable the DA's to focus on specific innovations and expand their efforts Noreen Barajas Murphy @ University of La Verne: (13:07) Do many CTL's have instructional design service embedded or are they in an IT arm somewhere? Mike Bates @ Harper College: (13:07) CourseSites looks like a great resource for sharing, thanks NIU
