The US Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (USACBI) fully supports the University of Washington

Students for Palestinian Equal Rights (SUPER)’s resolution calling on the UW Regents to divest from corporations that profit from the illegal military occupation and settlements in Palestine. We congratulate these students for living up to the University of Washington’s vision statement of being “compassionate and committed to the active pursuit of global engagement and connectedness,” and wish them success in passing the Divestment resolution. Along with SUPER UW, USACBI would like to see the University of Washington end its complicity with Israel’s violations of international law and human rights abuses of the Palestinian people. The University of Washington should proudly join the ranks of the growing number of American universities and academic associations that have already taken a courageous stand in support of divestment from Israel, and withdrawal of complicity with the illegal occupation and technologies of surveillance and subjugation. We therefore urge the Student Senate at the University of Washington, Seattle, to live up to the University of Washington’s stated ethical principles and to pass the divestment resolution.
