My baby was born at 2:13 p.m. in Lincoln Hospital. As soon as I saw her I fell in love. I said to myself, "My baby girl, you don't know how long I've been waiting for this day. My love is with you forever. I'll treat you like a princess and give you everything I can, just because you're my little baby gir1." Now that I know that she's in this world for life I'll teach her everything that she needs to know about life ...

GOD BLESS MY LITTLE BABY GIRL.

NICE BEAUTIFUL FLOWERING

My all age school is in Jamaica in the Parish of Trelawny in the town of Duncans. When I was going to all age school there were a lot of children going to school. There were not too many tables and benches and there - . were about forty children in one class and one teacher in the class for the whole day. There is more than onebuilding and some of the buildings are joined together. :..The colors of my all age school buildings were brown, - blue, green, and orange. But the thing about my all age school is that the outside of the buildings are so beautiful and they have flowers all around them, and the weather is so nice I can say we have a lot of sunshinein the morning throughout the whole day and when it comes to winter it's so cool. But I have to say I had a nice time going to all age school.

FRIENDSHIP FROM THE HEART

1

Friendship from the heart is between me and one of my friends back home. We have been friends from When we were small up till now. It means a lot to the two ofus.

I met my friend in my community back home where the both of us lived. At first when we were small we didn't know about friendship from the heart. Then we grew up and became teenagers.

We all know that when you become a teenager, you start to face some different type of things in your life. Some of the things you can't tell your parents. It is good to have a friend from the heart with whom you can share things that you can't tell your family about.

Friendship from the heart means to me that when you have a friend that you grow up with like one of your family, that you can talk to him and he can make you feel good about yourself.

I'M HAPPy TO BE BACK IN SCHOOL

.: ":-rm happy to be back in "school because without"school you ain't nobody. You need a high school diploma to be able to get a real good job for the future. My name happens to be Deborah Santaella. I have a little baby boy. His name is John Gee Rodriguez. He is now 9 months old. We are living in The New York Foundling Hospital for a while. If it weren't for them I wouldn't be in school now.

Now, for the future, I could show my child something in life. At first I was scared cause I wasn't going to school I didn't know what to do. I was thinking, "what am I going to show my son for his future?" But now, I know what to show him. I'll teach him what's good and bad and to stay in school until he graduates from high school and gets a' good job. I'll teach him not to listen to his friends if they: ask him to cut school or do drugs with them. I want to best for my child.

THAT'S WHY I AM HAPPy TO BE BACK IN SCHOOL!!! SO BE COOL, STAY SMART AND STAY IN SCHOOL, DON'T DROPOUT, AND PLEASE DON'T DO

Love ... is sometimes poor and sometimes rich. It's also happiness and sadness. Love ... is not always there when you need someone next to you. To find love is very hard.

I,.!- To look for and find the right love that you need is even

~ . harder. Love ... could also take months and years. To look

... ::. t~r the perfect love, you have to have the power in your heart. Never tell someone that you love them unless you really mean it. Love ... is no joke! It's a feeling that you

have in your heart. Love is also a very powerful word to say to someone. Never take love as ajoke. Always take it personal. If you haven't found the right love, keep on looking. There will always be a love for everyone on this

earth. And if you already found your love, then hold on to it. Try not ever to let it go from your heart. Have you ever noticed ...

Love is like a bird. If you let it flyaway it'll always come back to you and if it doesn't, then it was never meant to be yours. If love is everything to you, then you're wrong.

Love ... makes you go through a lot of things, it could be painful and cheerful. To love a person you need to care and feel free to talk about good and bad things. Don't be scared, for never let anything get in the way. There are many things about Love ... but unless you know what love is all about, you have to be careful that you won't be in a trap ... STICKING UP FOR SOMEO~

My friends went to a party one night and I didn't go with them because I was going to work that day. When I was at work one of my friends called me on the telephone and told me that somebody was trying to talk to his girl and that he didn't do anything about it. But when I saw my friend he told me the whole story and I told him that I was going to the party next week and I was going to fight for him.

The day came and we went to the party. My friend showed me the kid. I went to the kid's face and asked him why he was trying to talk to my friend's girlfriend and he started to get loud with me. So I started to get loud with him and then I punched him in the face. "When he got up he pulled a gun on me so we ran from the party. "When I got home I started to think he could have killed me for sticking up for somebody.

P.S. Now I knov: it's not good to stick up for somebody because you could get yourself killed or hurt.

WHEN :MY PARENTS GET ANGRY WITH :rv1E

'. .

. - . - My parents get angry for all the right reasons. For

example, staying out all times of the night. My parents worry about me being in the streets from the time I leave the house until the time 1 return. But my parents don't understand when I want to go and hang out with the girls or when I stay out late. They feel I should stay in the house and look at them all day long. So the only time I would be able to stay out and party is when I go downtown with my oldest sister. By all means they should be worried about me. I'm their child and there isn't any reason I should be outside all times of the night .

MY TEENAGE LIFE

My teenage life has not been so great. At the age of

""thirteen I was already smoking, drinking, and corning home the morning after. I was always getting in trouble. But I didn't care. All I thought was that I was cool. When I was fourteen I came out pregnant. I wasn't sure whether to keep the baby or take it out. I was so confused. But my mother told me to have the baby. I had the baby. It is a boy. I love him so much. It is hard, but that's how life is, and you have to live with it. Don't let your self fall.

Manola Camacho ROMANCES IN JYfY LIFE

Romances in my life aren't so great. I was once in love.

But I'm not interested in'that person anymore. That personand me were always fist fighting. We lost a lot of respect for each other. We made our parents go against each other. My love just dropped. Right now to be honest I have a lover, but it isn't anything big. We don't even hardly see .each other. When we get the chance to see each other we have so many interesting conversations. There is a teacher that would be a great role model for the man in my future life. What I like about this person is that he is nice, sweet and understanding. That's what I like in a man.

OUR HOPES AND DREAM:S FOR A NEW DECADE

THE FEELING OF RIDING A MOTORCYCLE

I'll start this story like this. It was two summers ago when me and my friend Mike decided that we needed motorcycles to ride. Almost everybody around my block had a motorcycle to ride on and we didn't have one. So my friend decided to buy a motorcycle from down south. The very next day he went and talked to his uncle about coming down there. So he left and his brother went with him. When he got down there he called and told me that he was getting two motorcycles for himself and for his brother. After he got finished talking to me he was on his way back to New York. When he got back we went to a park to try out the motorcycles. We stayed in the park almost to the end of the day. My friend stopped riding because it started to rain. I kept on riding. I went up to the top of the hill and when I was coming down I could not stop and I was sliding down the hill. It kept going and going until I reached the bottom. I hit a tree and the bike flew to the side. So my friend helped me up and I went home and my mother took me to the doctor. The doctor said that I had damaged my spleen. I had to stay overnight. So when I got out the next day I didn't ride an) more motorcycles, To end it like this: it was cool when I was riding it. After that I don't think I would ride a motorcycle again. To all people who would like to learn how to ride a motorcycle - it's cool, but first learn how to ride. Be careful and be sure to wear a helmet.

Roberta Agyemang GHANA OR AMERICA

..... -The most difficult decision I ever made was making a . choice between completing high school in Ghana or in America. At the time I had to decide between completing high school in Ghana and travelling to America to - complete school. .

My sister decided to take me to li ve wi th her in New York where it was believed I would have a decent living and a good education. But New York is a place of great risk where a person's life is not as easy and pleasant as in Ghana and a lot of hardships exist. Life is safe back home. There is nothing like drug abuse, shooting and kidnapping. However, I had to choose between the two countries. Should I stay in Ghana, or should I come to America to study for a career. .

I chose the latter. I have not regretted my decision. I am safe in America today.

THE FIRST TIME

The first time I saw you my heart knew that this was it ... My heart would never be the same. I noticed that when we looked at each other, you were giving me eye signals like - would you like to go out with me? Or something like that.

- Everytime I see you you make my heart beat faster :than ever before. But I have to control myself because I wouldn't like someone to notice our eye signals.

It would be a new life for all of us. There won't be

ONE FANTASY DREAM

-, - :.Once I dreamed I was an angel withoutany wings: . ..

Then God sent me to help someone with problems so I came down to the troubled world. I went to the person who needed help.

"God," the persori said, "who are you?"

"I am your friend," I said, "I am here to help you." Each day we worked together. The person was getting

better. He stopped using drugs. So the time came when I had to go back to heaven.

So I did and I got paid with two big beautiful golden wings and I was a real angel.

I told you that you didn't have to say it because I notice in the way you hold my hand. And in the way you look G me and the way you gave me OUI first kiss.

Inside my bag are my feeling and thoughts. My bag is the only bag that can hold feeling. My bag goes with me everywhere I go. It does not leave my side. THE WAY MY LIFE WENT

.' WITH A CERTAIN GIRL : ... ,~~~~?~iE~'8

' .... -1 used to go out with a certain girl. I went out with that' girl for four months and one week. Between our relationship, everything was going okay. There was one thing that I never noticed about her was that she is the kind of person that doesn't think. We broke up two

months ago. The reason we broke up was because she wanted to go out with another guy. The thing was that

she went out with one of the persons I always hated. I never knew that she was going to dis me for another guy;

I really care for her. She knows that. But it looks like she doesn't really care about me. I wish she could understand all the things I went through just to go out with her. I would like to go out with her again, but the reason I don't is cause she will probably do the same thing to me again. All I could say is that I really care for her.
