a few of the things I'm interested in are music friends photography and lm so! i worked with a business called luna, which began in 2013 from a jr who currently attends kcai as a jr in lm ! they are a group of young event coordinators! and this all kinda started from us just being friends and me shooting photo and lm documenting their events!
the collective group is lled with young creative individuals w/ diverse skills ranging from ! managing, djing, designing for print + spatially, and vying ! (and for those who arent familiar with that term vjing goes along with motion graphics and projected visuals)
luna provides visual and music entertainment or will collaborate with others depending on the given event
but it was also important to keep in mind all the other people involved *Click*
there were a few variables were to remain untouched like their logo *Click*!
and their name ! both requiring me to nd creative solutions for to work around
so the question my degree project revolved around was! how can design help luna as a fairly new business managed by young adults !
! !
& when I rst started it became apparent that they weren't exactly sure how to dene who they were or what they did! so i began to draw conclusions as to how I can improve their identity through design !
and to do that I had to! clarify and decipher the best way of explaining that through design! with a cohesive system for them to follow
instead of your normal stationary, business card, and usual things youd expect to see from a branding project! I felt it was important to stay true to who they are and create a guide for them to follow with the specic things they need to take them to the next level and push them in the right direction as a business
the yellow ! stands for their boldness and how each person in Luna stands out w/ unique qualities
the blue represents ! the intimate connection between the audience and the music!
and the red represents ! their professionalism and the energy that consumes you during their events!
Helvetica was the perfect solution for Luna bc! it was important for them to be exible for their clients own specic branding, and avoid visual chaos ! and they needed something thats really legible and clean for quick reads on print and web!
the tagline became well make your night ! which relates back the atmosphere + lifestyle of this particular business
Heres 3 examples of some of poster personally designs used for past events! and one important thing i realized from these were that since they have di#erent kinds of events ! which meant they needed a system designed to function with the diversity but in a cohesive way

The rst poster I created was for a larger event and one that the client is providing all the music! so in this case it was important to showcase who would be performing!

This next example was created for an event where Luna has total creative and entertainment control!
and the poster still has information on who is performing but it isnt a priority bc if someone were to see this poster and know nothing about lunathey probably wouldnt recognize any of the names

this last one would be for a smaller party that will give the designer a lot of creative control and en event like this would probably have an audience that is already familiar with who Luna is, so the typography doesn't necessarily need to be dominate here
so basically i designed each poster to function for those 3 di#erent kinds of events! and since majority of lunas events are usually more like the second poster i talked about! *Click* ! im going to focus on that one + all the components that go along w/ it ! leading up to what the actual experience work it with luna would be like
so after youre informed about this night and you didnt know much abut it other than its happening ! and youre interested in it and wanted to nd out more + get some info you could go to their FB! here youd get a little more information like what that evenings particular theme is and how you can participate and be a part of the work it with luna night! *Click*!
youd also see that you could win some of Lunas goodie prizes by ! either sharing the link to promote it! or since work it with lunas overall theme revolves around the concept of health and working out ! you could also win a prize or be involved by posting pics on instagram of yourself working out with #workitluna
after people start to participate and the event date gets closer Luna can then look through the photos *Click*!
and select their favorite photo and announce the winner at the event! as well as incorporate all the participants photos within the projected visuals making them feel like they really are a part of of the night
prizes could be anything from! a luna sticker! or a t shirt! or a poster from the event their attending
and when the date of the event actually arrives the evening might look something like this! *Click*
at rst i had a little trouble understanding who they are and what they do! but after a while it really began to piece together ! and when i got towards the end of this project it became much clearer to dene! and i strongly believe these elements will help them in the future when planning an event from start-nish! and now there are a lot of indicators and key elements that a person whos unfamiliar with lunacan start to draw visual connections enabling them to be remembered in a more impactful way while still staying true and appealing to their current + past audience
