We Really Mean it!

A lot of companies CSR initiatives have nothing to do with their core business. DSM, by contrast, has used its savoir faire, its expertise, and mobilized staff to improve the nutrients in the food given in situations of famine or hunger. If we could clone Feike Sijbesma, the CEO, the world would be a better place.

Creating Shared Value through Partnership: Aisyiyah Project (Indonesia)

Creating a new channel to bring a nutritious and affordable snack through a school feeding program Partnership between Indofood, Aisyiyah and DSM Pilot started in October 2013 with 30 schools (2000 students) Data collection and analysis on nutrition knowledge, market insights, behaviour change Combined with a large nutrition education program for teachers, parents and children 2014 goals: to bring nutritious products to 70% of the 250,000 Aisyiyah schools children February 2014: mid-term Some insights: Teachers and Parents feedback

My child has more of an appetite, and (s)he appears to be healthier Many parents and guardians would be happy to pay for vitamins/nutritious foods every day The children are more excited to come to school because they get given GoVit if they come to school Where can you find Govit outside schools? We would like to have more information on nutrition and vitamins

Avenues to Scale Up Expand to all Aisyiyah Schools: 13,000 schools throughout Indonesia Diversify the products: ready to drink, breakfast and lunch meals, etc Collaborate with SEAMEO to develop nutrition curriculum for all Aisyiyah schools, including nursing schools and hospitals
