Within this section you will find: print-outs for a communication board, a PowerPoint presentation, and a list of items.

Communication Board The print out of the communication, or bulletin, board contains information to parents regarding childrens movement and exercise. It includes how physical activity can help stimulate our childrens minds, cognitively. The board also helps the parents understand how physical activity can be directly related to other topics such as comprehension and understanding. It will also suggest a simple activity the child can do with his/her family as well as provide local information for a way to get children active. It is important to communicate these ideas to parents and families so they have a concrete understanding of just how important everything the child is learning is. It also gives the family an opportunity to get involved with this kind of learning. It is extremely important to keep this communication channel open to best help the child. PowerPoint Presentation This presentation was created with an idea as outreach to the families and community that directly affect children. This outreach was to help families and children going through a divorce. It is very common these days, and this would help the parents and children learn coping skills to get through the hard times. It is critical that attention is paid to the emotions that are associated with divorce. This can be a resource for many families and children. *This program was created as an example of a potential outreach program Item Lists This list of items was established to help create a culturally diverse classroom. As a teacher, one must always consider a childs background. A child coming into your program could have particular dietary requirements as well as a different understanding of the world. The items in the list could help a child see that people come with different shapes, sizes, colors, and abilities. By placing these items all throughout the room, the children are guaranteed to be submersed in a culturally diverse classroom.
