UPGRADE TO ORACLE (9.2.0.4.0):
The following procedure describes how to install the patch set:  oracle

 % cd $ORACLE_BASE/oui/bin/linux  % ln ­s libclntsh.so.9.0 libclntsh.so

 % ./runInstaller

Next Browse products.jar Next Note: i

Install $ORACLE_HOME/root.shroot.sh OK Exit

IMPORTING  11GB  DUMP:

Checking For Object Ivalidations:

ow we have to take backup of all the Oracle binary files ( OraHome1  ,OraInventry) directory and oraInst.log file from '/etc' directory to backup location. Similarly take of backup of the entire database( cold backup of entire  database)

SQL> STARTUP MIGRATE SQL> SPOOL patch.log SQL> @?/rdbms/admin/catpatch.sql SQL> SPOOL OFF

patch.logcatpatch.sql SERVER catpatch.sql
SQL> SHUTDOWN SQL> STARTUP

utlrp.sql
SQL> @?/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql

$ rman catalog username/password@alias RMAN> UPGRADE CATALOG;
