Brief Description of task:

This task requires students to work in groups of 3 or 4 to produce a museum display using factual information, primary
and secondary sources and artefacts, which illustrates the experiences of Australian soldiers who served in World War 1
OR World War 2. The display should aim to answer the question:

What were the experiences of Australian soldiers on active duty in either the First or Second World War?

Each group must select a theatre from ONE of the World Wars and conduct research into the purpose, events,
Australian involvement and living and combat conditions of this theatre. The information and sources that are collected
are then to be used to construct a museum display that will be marked by selected Year 8 students and members of the
Waratah/Mayfield RSL.
