body.

MAX
Helen, you don't know how to operate
this.

Helen looks firm.

HELEN

Max.

Max appears resigned to help.

MAX
All right. It's Uranium. Turn this
switch and push this button. You're
ready. You guide it with your arms
and/or legs. Like a bird.

Helen fires up the rocket pack.

Max shacks his head as he backs away.

Helen begins to lift off slowly.

Max yells after her.

MAX
I'll meet you there.

Helen yells to Max.

HELEN
Call my mom and dad. Tell them
I'll be late.

Max waves at her. He turns and runs to a Westgate security
car.

Helen blasts off into the night sky toward the distant
airport.

Max motions for an approaching security man to give him the
keys to the vacant car.

He jumps in and drives away.

her head.

OFFENHAUSEN
I wouldn't, Westgate!

Johnny stops and looks around at Helen and Offenhausen. He
looks at Offenhausen for and opening.

Helen speaks up.

HELEN
Take him, Johnny. Don't worry
about me!

Offenhausen smiles.

Johnny gives up.

Offenhausen jerks Helen's rocket pack off. He shoves her
toward the plane.

OFFENHAUSEN
Inventive little crowd you run
with, Westgate.

Hauser gets up and pushes Johnny on board.

Helen and Offenhausen follow.

INT. AIRCRAFT

Offenhausen looks forward and signals the German pilot to
take off.

The pilot acknowledges. He turns to the controls and guides
his plane forward.

The airplane taxis’ over the rough runway and becomes
airborne.

88

Helen and Johnny look at each other sadly. Hauser ties
Johnny's hands and legs.

of the aircraft.

INT. AIRCRAFT

Offenhausen looks at Helen as the plane moans toward its
destination.

OFFENHAUSEN
I'm sorry dear, but you are an
uninvited guest.

Offenhausen grabs her.

Johnny goes for Offenhausen. Hauser easily restrains him
due to his bindings.

Offenhausen opens a sliding door on the plane while holding
a struggling Helen. The wind gushes inside.

Helen fights harder and kicks Offenhausen back against the
airplane wall.

Johnny tries to fight Hauser in the background. Offenhausen
recovers and pushes Helen out the door as she grabs for
something solid to hang on to.

89

Johnny yells out.

JOHNNY

Helen!

Offenhausen turns and slaps him.

OFFENHAUSEN
Shut up! Better a broken heart
than a broken neck.

EXT. SKIES NEAR THE AIRCRAFT

Max jets toward the high flying aircraft.

Max turns toward Helen in a steep decent. His rocket
pack whines from the strain of full acceleration.

Helen screams and yells as she falls.

Max catches up to her. He grabs Helen as she falls.

Helen clings to his neck.

Max turns toward the ground. He goes into a steep dive and
flies toward a nearby body of water.

He yells to Helen.

MAX
Helen this weight is too much. I'll
hold altitude as long as possible.
When we get low enough over the water
you jump.

Helen reluctantly agrees.

They speed toward the large body of water. Max roughly
levels out twenty feet above the water. Helen drops in with
a splash.

90

Max turns and lands at the nearby shore.

Helen swims in to shore and gets out. she sits on the bank
exhausted.

Max takes off the jet pack and goes to Helen. She looks up
at Max with tears in her eyes.

HELEN
Will we ever see him again?

Max appears sad.

MAX
I don't know, Helen. All of our
resources will go to finding him.

Hauser, Offenhausen and Johnny sit on jump seats as the
plane drowns forward.

Offenhausen in the side with his bound legs.

JOHNNY

You killed, Helen!

Offenhausen regains his composure and stands. He towers
over Johnny. Offenhausen pulls out a knife.

HAUSER

Stop it, Rudolph.

Offenhausen glares at Hauser.

Quickly Johnny kicks Offenhausen in the stomach from his
sitting position.

Offenhausen falls backward and hits the latch on the side
door. The door slides open. The wind turbulent immediately
whirl through the aircraft.

91

Offenhausen hangs on, but the wind and vacuum pull him
outside. He hangs on to the floor and side of the door with
just his finger tips.

Hauser shoves Johnny back and grabs for Offenhausen.

Offenhausen slips loose and grabs a parachute on the floor
as he falls out.

Hauser shakes his head. He watches Offenhausen fall.

HAUSER
I hope he gets that parachute on
in time.

Johnny just stares.

JOHNNY
I hope he's mashed flat as a pan-
cake.

Hauser continues looking out the door. The wind is almost
unbearable.

HAUSER P.O.V.

INSIDE TO OUTSIDE - Offenhausen is still falling trying to
put the shut on.

Hauser smiles and watches.

HAUSER P.O.V.

INSIDE TO OUTSIDE - Abruptly a parachute opens.

BACK TO SCENE

Hauser is amused.

HAUSER
He made it. What luck. I thought

92

he'd be driven in the ground like
a rivet.

Hauser sits down.

JOHNNY
Bono, that man was evil. You are
in charge now. Let's go back. Do
the right thing.

Hauser smiles and shakes his head.

HAUSER
That man was never in charge.
Just a front so I could do my
job. A mere Trojan Horse young
Westgate. Let me introduce myself.
General Bono Hauser of the German
Fatherland's intelligence corp.

Johnny looks sad and appears to give up at that moment.

Max) are in the laboratory. Each of them are working on a

Otto works on a hand held light gun. He points it to test

fire the weapon at a crude metal form shaped like a Nazi
with Bono Hauser blazoned on its chest. Otto fires
the weapon. It burns a hole in the metal structure.

CONNOR
My word, who would have thought
a simple light could do that.

Otto smiles.

OTTO
Me, Connor. I call it Viper Ray.

Connor and Otto continue their banter.

CONNOR
How original, Viper ray. It’s an
instant classic. I would think
you could do more with the money
we spend on your research.

Otto has a mischievous smile.

OTTO
It's tough to take a dump like an
elephant when you work for peanuts.

Connor smugly retaliates.

CONNOR
Otto, you humor is as appetizing
as a turd on a salad.

Otto smiles proudly.

OTTO
Is that accounting humor-less?

Connor is amused.

Winston tinkers with the Viper suit hanging on its
mannequin.

He steps back and fires a forty-five caliber military
pistol into the suit.

Everyone is surprised to hear the shot. They turn and look.

The bullets flatten and sizzle on the suit.

The others turn back to their work.

Winston smiles and brushes the bullets off with his hand.
They clink on the floor.

He twirls the pistol and puts it in his pocket.

Max and Helen survey maps on the wall and listen to
overlapping radio communications from several sets of
radio's.

Helen looks at Max and points to a small Parish in
Louisiana near the coast.

HELEN
This is it, Max. From all of the
communications and special agents
reports. I think they are hiding
in this little town village. Just
waiting for a ship or plane to
take them to their destination.

Max nods in agreement. Winston interrupts.

WINSTON
The suits ready, Max. You need to
try it on and test it.

Max turns and looks at the suit.

It glows a subtle bronze in the dim light. Helen turns and
speaks to Max.

HELEN
Go ahead, Max. Time is important.

Max goes behind an oriental screen and puts the sleek suit
on. He steps out.

Every one is in awe.

95

Max puts on the unique helmet and covers his face.

(CONTINUED)

CONTINUED:

He looks like a trim sleek super hero.

Otto speaks up.

OTTO
Time for the test, Max.

Max steps to a test area as everyone looks on.

He moves a secret button on his belt.

He starts to walk through a brick wall built for the test.

The suit glows and the wall disintegrates before him. Max
turns to the others.

Winston pulls out the automatic pistol and quickly fires
three times.

Max is shocked at being shot. The bullets just sizzle on
the suit.

Winston smiles. He walks to Max and wipes them off with his
hand. Winston puts the pistol in his pocket.

WINSTON
It works. You’re bulletproof.

Max nods silently.

Everyone looks relieved.

Otto attaches the light gun to the Black Viper belt. Max
presses his belt again. He holds out his hand.

Max levitates a nearby table. He chuckles at his new found
toy.

MAX

This is great.

96

Winston speaks up.

WINSTON
There's more. We have a plane
that is turbo powered. Faster
than anything I know. You have
the Westgate car and a Black
Viper motorcycle.

(CONTINUED)

CONTINUED:

Max is pleased. He smiles and pats Winston on the back.

MAX
Helen, get those coordinates for
the hide out. I'm going after,
Johnny.

Helen is happy. She grabs a small colorful topographical
map and gives it to Max.

HELEN

Go, Max.

Max adjust his face mask. He makes a heavy breathing
sound that echoes slightly.

Winston checks the suit and equipment out.

Connor is helping and pushes a button on the wall.

A door open onto an enclose concrete court yard. The viper
motorcycle and airplane set just outside.

Max walks toward the door. He stumps his toe as he walks.
He screams out from inside his helmet.

MAX

Aah!

Two glass beaker break on a table nearby and everyone holds
their ears.

Otto quickly speaks up.

OTTO

97

I forgot to tell you. Your voice
is sent through an amplifier in
your helmet. Well you can see the
effect.

Max looks at Otto and agrees. He walks onto the secluded
paddock.
