How to type in kannada in ubuntu

STEP 1:
Type the below command
sudo apt-get install scim scim-m17n scim-gtk2-immodule ttf-kannada-fonts
STEP 3:
Type the below command
scim-setup &
STEP 3:
When u press the second command you will get the below window select the trigger as per your
choice..
For example: here i have selected ctrl+alt+space
which will trigger the kannada writing like you do scroll-up in windows..
STEP 4:
Follow the below procedure in the same opened window and make sure you have selcted the
kannada
STEP 5:
Now execute the below commands in terminal
cd /etc/X11/Xsession.d/
STEP 6:
Execute the below command
gedit 75scim
STEP 7:
aste the below code into the opened !ile and save
export XMODIFIERS="@im=SCIM"
export XIM_PROGRAM="/usr/bin/scim -d"
export GTK_IM_MODULE=scim
export QT_IM_MODULE=scim
STEP 8:
Now logout and login again..
STEP 9:
"ight click on the icon... upper right corner...
#elect the kannada n sub select kannada-itrans
STEP 10:
$pen $!!ice or notepad ... press ctrl+alt+space to trigger the writing in kannada..
again ctrl+alt+space to back to english
