of Collaborative Process Software, announced today that Dr. Mark Adkins has been named as
the company's Chief Collaboration Officer.
Dr. Adkins holds a PhD in Communications from the University of Arizona, a leading center for
research into technology, group dynamics, and the human collaborative process. Since joining
the collaboration visionaries at the University of Arizona in the 1980s, he has been trail blazing
digital and technology services in the academic, defense, and private sectors. Dr. Adkins is a
collaboration evangelist who gives seminars and workshops around the world as well as
conducting extensive collaboration work with the US Air Force, US Navy, KPMG, the City of
Tucson, the United Nations, NATO, IBM, Raytheon, Accenture, and many other major corporate
clients. He has authored and co-authored numerous research papers and book chapters on topics
relating to collaboration, collaboration software platforms, and optimized decision-making. His
work has been published in numerous journals, including the United States Naval Institute
Proceedings, Decision Support Systems, Journal of Management Information Systems, Group
Decision and Negotiation, and Management Communication Quarterly.
Before joining ThinkTank, Dr. Adkins was with Accenture for six years, where he focused on
digital business and technology services that blend an understanding of human behavior with
collaborative technologies. He was also Architect for Gestalt's advanced decision support
platform, which was acquired by Accenture in 2008. Prior to that, Dr. Adkins served as a Senior
Managing Consultant for IBM and as the Director of Research at the Center for the Management
of Information at the University of Arizona. As the Director of Research, he played an
instrumental role in the creation, development, and implementation of the original ThinkTank
platform (Ventana/GroupSystems).
At ThinkTank, Dr. Adkins will help develop the company's next generation of cloud-based
Collaboration-as-a-Service (CaaS) applications, working with key partners, including Deloitte,
PwC, and EY, to drive accelerated outcomes with clients. He will also liaise directly with major
ThinkTank clients, including Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and military
organizations, to ensure the greatest impact from ThinkTank deployment across their core
processes as well as the support and advancement of the global enterprise collaboration research
that ThinkTank continues to engage in.
