2. In writing journals have students make a list of words that rhyme with Bar Door
and Fish.
3. Introduce/Review poem vocabulary: Hyperbole, Simile, Stanza, Personification, and
Metaphor.
4. Two types of poems: Couplet and Acrostic *with examples*
5. Students will assist teacher in creating one of each type of poem.
Mad Lib for Couplet.
Recess for Acrostic.
Group work: Students will create a couplet poem.
