Classification: Supervisor: Positions Supervised: None Suary Stateent The Office of Planning and Budget is the principal staff arm of the Chancellor and Executive Vice Chancellor in the areas of academic, capital, enrollment, and financial planning, policy analysis, and fiscal administration. In this capacity, it develops and maintains relevant dataases, provides analyses of policies and programs, assists in the determination of campus priorities, and in the development of strategies designed to achieve these priorities. Its responsiilities include the campus operating udgets, admissions targets, enrollment plans, and such special studies and revie!s of programs and operations as may e necessary to enale the Chancellor and the Executive Vice Chancellor to discharge their responsiilities in these areas. "nder general direction, the incument performs a variety of functions in support of the operating udget, including preparation of analyses for campus resource planning and analysis and a variety of duties in support of campus udget operations. Major Functional Areas !"# $esource Planning and Analysis Prepares analysis of complex resource issues. Prepares detailed udget charts, tales, and spreadsheets, as needed, in support of a variety of udgetary analyses and special pro#ects. Compiles and displays data using tale and graph spreadsheet applications. Prepares analyses for use y campus administrators !hen ma$ing academic planning, udget, and other presentations. %esponsiilities include the identification of relevant and usale data sources, selecting appropriate methods of data collection and data analysis, and reporting of conclusions, implications, and recommendations. Provides udget recommendations to respond to a !ide range of issues. &evelops, formulates, and recommends funding scenarios to address concerns and facilitate resolution. Convenes the 'iscellaneous (ee )dvisory Committee. )ssists in the revie! of recharge rate and miscellaneous fee proposals, income and expense statements, and other information included in recharge rate and miscellaneous fee proposals. &evelops cash*flo! pro#ections for self*supporting and+or fee*funded activities. &rafts correspondence, as needed. %esponds to re,uests for information from the "C Office of the President. Prepares %egents- udget tales. )ssists in the monitoring of funding re,uests sent to the Office of the President, and implementation of ne! resource allocations.
Compiles data and prepares reports re,uired y campus managers for academic and udgetary planning. Identifies campus*!ide information needs and campus sources of data. )ssists in development of electronic dataases and reports to facilitate planning and decision*ma$ing. )ssists in the design and maintenance of !e pages for the Budget Office and Planning and Budget Office .ome Page. Participates in training classes developed and offered y the Planning and Budget Office. %"# Budget Operations Prepares allocations for deans and vice chancellors. %evie!s funding re,uests and drafts allocation letters to respond to a variety of funding commitments. /or$s !ith staff in the central accounting office to prepare the annual administrative recharge for auxiliary enterprises activities. Provides support to the )ssistant &irector 0 Budget Operations as needed. %ecords udget entries into the campus- current and permanent operating udgets. Creates periodic status reports of account alances. Provides assistance to campus units on udgetary, fiscal, and student fee issues including resolving udgetary prolems and understanding or applying udget policies. )ssists the Principal )nalyst !ith activities in support of the Budget and 1taffing 1ystem, as needed. )ssists in the preparation of the annual Economic Impact 1tudy.
