Reminders: We will start selling yearbooks on Monday, May 12th. The cost of a yearbook is $12 for students. Please send in a self- addressed, stamped envelope for end of year report cards. We will be having our end of year First Grade Party on June 3 from 12:30-1:20. If you would like to come and help us with our games and ice cream station, please let me know. End of Year Awards: We will celebrate our End of Year awards on June 4. We will meet in the cafeteria at 9:30 for Terrific Kids, Perfect Attendance, and Academic Excellence Awards. Then we will come to the classroom for our classroom awards and End of Year video. Students will be able to be checked out in the classroom after awards, but are encouraged to return to school on June 5-6 for the last half days of school. Free Book Fair: Ellen Woodside was chosen to participate in a Free Book Fair! Each student will receive 12 free books to keep. The books were donated by Public Education Partners to promote summer reading. Students will shop in the book fair with their class on June 2 nd or June 3 rd . Michelin North American has donated shopping bags for all students. Please visitwww.greenville.k12.sc.us/ellenw to check out our schools summer reading program. Have a great summer, and remember toread, read, read! Getting 2 nd Grade Ready: I sent home a calendar of activities, as well as a math packet for your child to work on over the summer. It is very important that your child read during the summer and keep his/her skills fresh. Please also be on the lookout for information about our schools summer reading program.
