Developing Effective Communications Strategies
Low Develop a Communications Strategy for one of the Quadrants in your Power/Interest Communications Grid. Strategic Objectives Recommended Transmission Channels The strategy is to avoid one way communication, real communication flows two ways a good mix of tools provide plenty of opportunities to ask questions
and to offer comments or criticisms. A general rule, the opportunity arises, the smaller the group the more personal your communications need top be. Most of us value face to face or voice to voice more than we do news letters, blanket emails, faxes and other less personal means. Ideally regular meetings offer opportunities to talk with each other, Monthly Meetings and Information sessions offer opportunities for all to gauge progress and to provide valuable input within the company.
Type on Information so be supplied to the target audience All Shareholders and employees alike like to know how buoyant their company is, the type of feedback they would be looking for would be, • • • • • • • How the company is going Sales and Marketing plans Profit and loss statements Comparisons with previous years Future plans and developments How their company rates against their opposition And they like to heat it from the CEO not a transmission What projects are presently been undertaken
In all they want to know how secure their position is or whether they should jump ship
