JOHNNY: Once upon a time, there once was a mean old witch.

She lived in an ancient castle

deep, deep in the woods. The old witch was jealous of the young people she would see
wandering in the forest, so she drew a magical circle around her castle and cast spells on
anyone that dared to walk into it. Anyone that entered the circle was stuck in place until the
witch decided to set them free. And whenever a young maiden came into the circle, the jealous
witch would turn her into a bird and trap her in a cage!

Then one day, two very good friends, Jorinda and Joringel, were taking a long walk in the forest.
They loved taking walks, especially on beautiful days! They would walk for hours, getting lost in
the beauty of the woods. One day it was so beautiful out that they didnt notice they were
walking right into the witchs circle!

Suddenly, Joringels feet were stuck to the ground and Jorinda was turned into a nightingale.
The witch came out and snatched the nightingale into a cage. Joringel begged and begged the
witch to set them both free. She agreed to let him go but kept the nightingale for herself.

Joringel was heartbroken. Every day and night he tried to think of a way to free his beloved
Jorinda. Finally, one night Joringel had a dream. He dreamed of a bright red flower with a big,
beautiful pearl in the middle that would change Jorinda back into a girl. When he woke up, he
knew he needed to find the flower. So he went out in search of the flower from his dreams!

After searching and searching for nine whole days, he finally found a flower that was bright red
with a drop of dew in the middle that shined like a pearl. This was the one!

Joringel ran back to the witchs castle as fast as his legs would take him, and, protected by the
magic of the flower, he didnt get stuck! He used the magic in the flower to take away the witchs
evil magic and set everyone that she had trapped free, including Jorinda!

They hugged and celebrated and all lived happily ever after!
