12. 3) What are the areas (i.e. tasks, skills) in which the student is excelling at the agency?
Heather's strengths were in her rapport building skills with her clients. She has strong interpersonal skills and the clients were naturally drawn to her outgoing personality. These skills allowed her to facilitate several client successes.
She coordinated outings to both the Sec. of State and Opti-eyes. Heather also did a great job of accepting feedback about her skills and viewed her experiences an opportunity to learn.

13. 4) What are the areas (i.e. tasks, skills) in which the student requires additional knowledge?
Heather's needs to work on her writing skills. She wrote the process recordings in "diary form", which was "fine" for this assignment, however she will struggle in the clinical world is she doesn't learn l how to articulate her thoughts in
a professional manner. I feel that her confidence in her writing skills caused her to procrastinate on her paperwork, although she always got her work in on time. Heather had problems building boundaries with some of the clients,
and took on more responsibility for their action plans than she should have. She was aware of this; however it was something she struggled with throughout her internship

Heather and I had many discussions on projection and transference with clients. She was always open to these conversations and learned to self correct towards the end of the internship. I saw her make great progress in this area.

Heather participated in the data gathering process that happened at the end of the internship. She helped put together a report on the success of the Welcome Inn based on the amount of successful referrals, placements etc. were
made. It was a good learning experience and contributed to her knowledge of "evidence based practiced"

Both interns learned firsthand the unique challenges social work in an urban environment. This was Heather's first experience working in the Human Service field. She has many natural abilities that make for a successful social
worker. She also has the personality for social work, in which she over schedules and overbooks herself. It is a recipe for "burnout" in this profession. In this age of "accountability", it is a struggle for social workers to balance both
needs.
