DC’s Transitional Employment Program


Unemployed? helps people secure work
Who?
To be eligible to participate in this employment assistance and support pro-
gram you must:
• be 21 years old or older;
• be unemployed;
• live in a Hot Spot area (Ward 1 Hot Spots mapped on reverse; links to all on reverse)
• not be currently receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF,
welfare), Social Security benefits, or unemployment compensation.
What?
Participate in the Department of Employment Services’ Transitional
Employment Program (TEP) and you will receive
• real-time employment experiences;
• specialized skills and life skills training;
• job coaching;
• basic education assistance; and
• individualized supportive and case management services.
Where?
The Department of Employment Services’ One-Stop Career Center in Ward
1: Columbia Heights Career and Information Center, 1480 Girard Street, NW. Many One-Stop staff
people speak Spanish!
When?
Go ASAP Hours are Tuesday - Thursday, 9:00 am-3:00 pm. Take work permit or resident card with
you.
