A German Weaver’s Pattern Book

A German Weaver’s Pattern Book

This document contains patterns from Christian Morath’s pattern book (1784 - 1810), published
in 1961 by Nellie L. Galvin.
As is typical of old weaver’s books, the patterns are hand-drawn and crude. Here is an example:

Kris Bruland has digitized these patterns and put WIFs for them on http://www.handweaving.net,
where they can be downloaded without charge.

The patterns here have been derived from the WIFs and provided for browsing and easy identifi-
cation of patterns of interest.
The patterns are organized by size, width first. Identifying numbers for the WIFs are given below
the patterns. For example, 18293 refers to 18293.wif on http://www.handweaving.net.
Material in this document may be used freely for individual projects, but republication is prohib-
ited.
