Vision Paper

Schools Vision:
Johnson County Middle/High School will foster the development of literate and
productive citizens for the twenty-first century. Our students will attain a level of literacy
technological a!ility and patriotism to compete in the world economy while preserving
the democracy and li!erty of the "nited States of #merica.
Administrators Role:
$he administrators at Johnson County Middle/High School will utilize technology
to promote safety security and well-!eing for all employees and students including
those with disa!ilities. $hey will also employ technology to ensure student staff school
and statewide accounta!ility. %urthermore administrators will !e trained on the
technologies availa!le to teachers. &n relation to the $echnology 'lan administrators are
responsi!le for assuring technology planning is managed through technology committees
in the school. #s leadership plays a (ey role in successful reform )Creighton *++,- the
administration will develop and facilitate the vision for the school. as well as
documenting the implementation of the plan.
Teachers Role:
$he teachers at Johnson County Middle/High School will utilize technology for
professional development to integrate into the curriculum and will !e provided
professional development to ensure technologically advanced techni/ues which guarantee
/uality and state of the art instruction. $eachers will use emerging technologies to
improve instruction and student learning to enhance school effectiveness. $hey will use
technology to remediate reinforce and enhance the learning of all !y providing for a
personalized educational program.
Students Role:
Students will use engaging software and on-line resources that are integral to
curriculum and have a positive impact on student achievement. #ll students will have
technological access irrespective of learning styles individual and various differences
disa!ilities and capa!ilities. Students will not 0ust !e using technology. they will analyze
learn and e1plore the technologies provided. )&S$2 *+34-.
Parents and Community Roles:
$he parents and community mem!ers will ac/uire and augment colla!orative
partnerships with the school and reinforce school to parent communications using
technology. 'arents need to ac/uire the (nowledge needed to promote learning with
technology and (now what his/her child is doing when learning is ta(ing place through
