The Curse of Ecumenism:

Why the Enemy wants a
Unified Christian Church

All through the Bible, when used as a symbol, leaven (or yeast) has only one
meaning sin.

The Feast of Unleavened Bread was intended to impress upon the children of
Israel the truly repugnant character of sin in the eyes of an awesomely holy
God. Since the bread used in the feast was a symbol of truth, it could contain
no leaven whatever. The Apostle Paul tells us that a little leaven will leaven
the entire loaf. This was such a serious matter that God commanded the Jews
to remove all domestic supplies of leaven from their homes before Passover.
The consequences of contamination were such that the risk, however small,
had to be eliminated completely:

"For seven days no leaven shall be found
in your houses, since whoever eats what is
leavened, that same person shall be cut off
from the congregation of Israel."

Exodus 12:19

Ecumenism is a social philosophy
Ecumenism is the modern drive to find common ground between different
Christian denominations. As such it is a sinister attempt to spread leaven
among all of them.

Lets say there are a dozen distinct Christian churches in the world today.
Since they dont all share the same theology, some must be in conflict with
Gods Holy Word. So what happens when you combine them all? The false
churches will infect the true churches and destroy them.

What could be more pleasing to Satan?

Ecumenism uses the slogan, "In essentials, unity; in non-essentials,
liberty." However, the Bible never distinguishes between essentials and
non-essentials. In fact it stresses the opposite:

"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word
that proceeds from the mouth of God." Matthew 4:4

Every word. What does that mean? It means every word.

Christians who attend ecumenical events like to think they are breaking
down walls of separation. And they are. But the walls they are destroying
are the very walls that protect them and keep out leaven.

Both the Roman Catholic church and the liberal Protestant churches have
rejected the sufficiency and literal accuracy of the Bible. They are deeply
infected with leaven, namely doctrines that conflict with Gods Holy
Word. So when a born-again, Bible-believing Christian worships among
them, he is exposing himself to error and deception. What is more, he is
failing in his priestly duty to counsel the backslidden and witness to the

Ecumenism promotes false doctrine
The Roman Catholic 'Jesus' is not the Jesus of the Bible. Rome teaches that
the blood of Jesus was not sufficient to free man completely and perfectly
from his sin debt and that he is obliged to earn the rest of his salvation
through good works. Works-based salvation is a pagan belief, a complete
rejection of the sufficiency and effectiveness of what Christ did for us on
the cross.

The liberal Protestant churches are also infected with all kinds of heresies
and false teachings evolution, divorce, pre-marital sex, abortion,
homosexuality, and non-belief in central doctrines such as the bodily
resurrection of Christ and the inerrancy of the Bible. Indeed their silent
acceptance of abortion the murder of an unborn child is conclusive
proof that they no longer take God at His word.

There are even serious heresies among the conservative Protestant
churches. Many subscribe to Replacement Theology, the false belief that
the church has replaced Israel and that the LORD no longer intends to
honour His promises to the Jewish people. Others teach that the Bible is not
inerrant, that hell is not eternal, that a Christian can be a Freemason, and
that yoga and other mystical practices are consistent with Scripture.

Are we being too narrow?
Are we being too narrow? Or elitist? Is this not the very rigidity and
intolerance that the 'modern' world rejects? Yes, it is. But the problem lies
with the world and with mans fallen nature not with the Word of God.

Alas, many Christians today do not hate evil but prefer to see 'good and
evil' as relative. They no longer fear God which means to walk in awe
and reverence at His unsearchable holiness and absolute sovereignty but
have elected instead to reinterpret his Holy Word to fit their 'modern'

Ecumenism is designed to exploit the worldliness and herd mentality of
fallen man and lure him into accepting a Unified 'Christian' Church. The so-
called Emerging Church is a stepping stone toward this objective, as are the
Charismatic Movement, the Interfaith Movement, the Purpose-driven
church, and contemplative spirituality. All alliances and 'agreements'
between Rome and other churches are part of this awful deception.

Unless one is prepared to risk losing fellowship with the LORD God of
Israel, we must steer clear of Ecumenism in all its forms. While it speaks
of unity and harmony, love and inclusiveness, in reality it is nothing but a
device that Satan is using to spread the leaven which he hopes will one day
destroy true Bible-based Christianity.

We should do exactly what Christ instructed the apostles to do during the
last day of his ministry:

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of
the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to
observe all things that I have commanded you."
Matthew 28:19-20

Christ, the living Word, is asking us to teach the complete Word of God
"all things that I have commanded you" and not a stripped-down,
ecumenical version that has no power to save anyone.

"He who has My commandments and
keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And
he who loves Me will be loved by My
Father, and I will love him and manifest
Myself to him."

John 14:21
