Lunch: Most bring their lunches, eat when the kids do Meet your students outside Day to Day What about my lunch? Most teachers bring their lunch or buy from the cafeteria, there are refrigerators in the staff lounge Pick your students up outside after lunch What if I need a Substitute? Request as soon as possible using Aesop, online system Send email to Lisa Morin, Kurt, and Reneae ASAP Also inform your team so they can help if necessary Overplan for your substitute with specific lesson plans Where should I park? 5th grade teachers usually park in the southwest parking lot near Door #15 6th grade teachers usually park in the front parking lot near Door #2
Day to Day Where can I get supplies? See Lisa Morin in the office if you need anything How do I handle a parent concern? Expectation is to answer within 24 hours via email or phone Please ask if you need help with a response Have someone read your email to check for tone and grammar Where do I find IEPs, 504 plans and behavior plans? Special education teachers will come around before the students arrive and provide necessary information - ask questions! Where to I print or make copies? There are print stations centrally located in hallways attached to your computers Copy machines are located in the office and the media center, see Lisa Morin for access code
First Day Greet students in the hallways 5th grade to LGI 6th grade to gym All teachers will announce their class lists and take the students back to their classrooms Practice lockers, (5th grade especially), because we have some help in the morning 5th grade give a quick tour of the building prior to lunch Take class to gym for a grade level expectations presentation, (this will be your prep on the first day) Curriculum/Instruction Marzano: 41 Elements, High Reliability Schools PLCs: Protected time, collaboration FIT: Goal is to provide additional time for remediation and enrichment Evaluation Process: Formal observation 1/semester, official informal observation 1/semester, informals throughout the year to provide specific feedback to help you become a BETTER educator ELs (Essential Learnings)
