Film & Production Internship with Aurora Fire Department

Job Description
The Rocky Mountain Fire Academy (a joint operation between Aurora and Denver Fire Departments) is
seeking an individual or individuals with experience in film to produce fireground training videos. Intern(s)
will be working with Aurora Fire Department Training Staff and will produce 5-10 minute videos that
include training demonstrations with voice captions and video effects.

General functions of the AFD Film Intern:
• Digitally capture fireground exercises and evolutions and edit into finished product.
• Provide general knowledge and suggestions based on previous experience.
• Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with staff assigned to RMFA.
• Be comfortable with working in environments with high heat or high elevations with the
protection of supplied bunker gear and/or other protective devices.
• This is a 1-2 semester commitment, weekly hours are extremely flexible, but we ask that at least
10 hours be scheduled per week, during the hours of 8am – 4pm, Monday thru Friday.
• Intern will have many opportunities to explore the job functions of a firefighter as an added
benefit.
• The intern will be required to have his/her own production and editing equipment

Required Experience
• Digital filming and editing experience.
• Production of short films/videos.
