First of all wishing you all a very very happy Independence Day
!s you "now all of us have gathered here to celebrate #$th independence day of our
nation% This day, after the hosting national flag, we salute and re&e&ber the heroic
deeds of all freedo& fighters% !s a citi'en of India, I feel so proud to give a speech on
Independence Day and share so&e of &y views with you all%
!s we all "now that on ()th !ugust (*+, India got independence getting rid fro& the
-ritish rule and since then we got so&e funda&ental rights and overall a right to call
India as our own .ation, our own /otherland% 0e are fortunate enough to born in
Independent India but history reveals how our ancestors and forefathers suffered in
the brutal rule of -ritishers% Getting independence fro& the -ritish rule was not a
ca"ewal"% It too" several decades of struggle right fro& ($), when /angal Pandey
who was a souldier in -ritish force first raised the voice against -ritishers, since then
several freedo& fighters struggled and even gave their life for freedo&% How can one
forget -hagat 1ingh, Chandra 1e"har !'ad, 2hudi Ra& -ose who lost their life in a
very tender age 3ust for fighting for freedo&% How can the struggle of .eta3i and
Gandhi3i be ignored% Gandhi3i who was the "ey person taught us how a big battle can
be won by non voilence% Finally the result of the struggle ca&e on ()th !ugust (*+,
when India got independence and since then we proudly celebrate this day%
0e have got several rights, &ost of all right to chose Govern&ent% -ut on the other
side we should re&e&ber our duties too% 0e have to respect this independence for
which our forefathers struggled to the e4tent of sacrificing everything including their
lives%
0e students, children are the future of our Country, we have to carry what we have
been given in better way% 0e have to grow up as a responsible citi'en, contribute to
our level best or growth and develop&ent of our &otherland India% 5et us ta"e a
pledge in this #$th Independence day that we will respect our independence and will
always "eep our .ational flag flying high%
