Perimeter is always the same, just add up the sides…….Even Clem can figure that one out.
Think of a Triangle as half of a parallelogram
Area of a parallelogram is base x height, so a triangle will be A = ½ bh
6 cm 8 cm
A = ½ bh A = ½ (6 x 8) A = ½ (48) A = 24 cm²
A trapezoid can also be thought of as ½ of a parallelogram only it will have 2 bases height
Area of a parallelogram is A = bh So Area of a trapezoid will be ½ bh, (BUT I HAVE TO ADD MY 2 BASES)
A = ½ (b1 + b2) (h)
Height = 7 cm = 8 cm Base
A = ½ bh A = ½ ( 7 x 8) A = ½ (56) A = 28 cm²
