PATTERN:

Cherry Blossom/Japanese Sakura Necklace

Finished length 19 inches, design size 6 x 3 inches

You will need:
Crochet hook size US C2/2.75 MM
Fingering weight yarn in: brown, light pink, medium pink, deep pink,
celery green
small yarn needle
small sharp scissors
gel super glue (optional)

For toggle side, with brown:
ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook, 2 sc in each of 6 sc (12)
2 sc in next stitch, 1 sc in next st, 4 times (12 sc)
slip stitch in next chain,
chain 8, sc in 2nd chain from hook, 6 times (this gives you the length for
the necklace, you can add another ch 8 sc in 2nd chain from hook, or you
could take one of those out to increase the length or decrease the length
as needed)
end off, leaving plenty of yarn for sewing onto center design.

For loop side, with brown:
ch 11, sc in 11th chain from hook (this makes the loop)
chain 8, sc in 2nd chain from hook, 6 times (this gives you the length for
the necklace, you can add another ch 8 sc in 2nd chain from hook, or you
could take one of those out to increase the length or decrease the length
as needed)
end off, leaving plenty of yarn for sewing onto center design.

Center design, with brown:

Chain 14, slip stitch in 2nd chain from hook, slip stitch in next 2 chains,
do this 2 more times, then ch 11

Pink flowers

With light pink, ch 4, dc into 4th chain from hook, chain 3, slip stitch in
same stitch as previous dc, (one petal made), chain 3, dc in same chain,
chain 3, slip stitch in same chain, continue until there are 5 petals, end
off, weave in yarn ends.
With medium pink (for the centers of the flowers), thread a small yarn
needle, stick the needle in the flower from in front of the flower to the
back and bring it back to the front again, leaving enough yarn on both
ends, then tie in a knot (I knot it 2 times) cut yarn.

Leaves

With green, chain 6, hdc in 3rd chain from hook, hdc in next chain, sc in
next chain, slip stitch in last chain, chain 2, slip stitch in same stitch, then
working around end on underneath side, sc in next stitch, hdc in next
stitch, hdc in last stitch, chain 1, slip stitch in same stitch, end off, weave
in yarn ends.

Flower buds

With dark pink, ch 2, sc into 2nd chain from hook, chain 1, end off,
leaving several inches of yarn on both ends. Take the 2 pieces of yarn and
tie them together into a knot, the result will be a small bud, leave enough
yarn for sewing onto necklace design.

Assembly, sew the toggle and loop strands onto the brown tree branch
piece, one on each side. Glue (or sew, I prefer gel super glue) flowers
randonly onto brown tree branch piece. Glue (or sew) leaves onto piece,
sew flower buds onto brown tree branch piece.
