HOW THINGS ARE GOING TO WORK IN CLASSHonor Code:

-We are here to learn and grow as scholars and people. In order to be successful in this endeavor, we must live and work with honor, integrity, and character. As such, we abide by the Honor Code at all times and sign the Honor Pledge on all major assignments and tests.

-

On my honor as a student I pledge that I have neither given nor received help on this

assignment.”

Signature & Date

Attendance and Absence Policy:

-

You are responsible for finding out and making up ALL work that you missed. Check the Make-Up Work Folders in Prep Line THE DAY YOU COME BACK. If you miss notes, you are responsible for getting the information.

-

All work needs to be completed and made up within one day of your return

-

NO MAKE UP WORK WILL BE GIVEN AT THE END OF THE QUARTER!

-

If you are absent on a test day, the test must be made up the next day or as soon as you return!

Tutoring

-

Tutoring is a PRIVILEGE. Tutoring is available on by appointment Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:20-

3:00.

-

Additional tutoring hours may be established on an “as-needed” basis. Please see me individually.

Re-tests

-

Any student who fails a test (below 70%) is required to re-take the test during the tutoring hours.

-

Any student who does not master an objective (85% or greater) has the opportunity to re-take the test in order to show mastery of the material and increase their grade.

-

Re-tests MUST be taken within one week of being notified of the test grade.

-

Before any student retakes a test, he or she must present a completed review guide for the unit for which they are testing.

Late Assignments

-

Because our time is so short, it is crucial that we act with a sense of urgency. All homework and assignments are assigned for a reason and deadlines must be met.

10% will be taken off for each day an assignment is late. Assignments later than 5 days will not be accepted. Organized Binders

-

-

Binders will be checked for organization during each unit test. Binder checks count as half a test grade. There will be an example Binder in the room.

-

Binders are required to stay in the classroom, on the appropriate shelf, at all times.

By signing here, I acknowledge that I have read and agree to abide by the Syllabus for Earth and

Environmental Science.
