Problem Example of Separately DC motor Drive System Problem Example of Separately DC motor Drive System

The speed of separately DC motor is controlled by a single-phase full-wave

converter. The field current is also controlled by a single-phase full-wave
converter and the field current is set to the maximum possible value.
The AC supply voltage available is 415 V, 50 Hz. The armature resistance is
0.25 , the field current resistance is 175 , the motor voltage constant is
1.4V/A rad/s. The armature current corresponding to the load demand is 45
A.
The viscous friction and no-load losses are negligible. The armature current and
field current are continuous and ripple free.
If delay angle of the armature converter is 60
o :
a) Draw the circuit of this DC motor drive system
b) Determine the torque developed by motor.
c) Determine the speed of motor.
