Psyche and Cupid Greek Myth

-A king and a queen had three beautiful daughters
-Psyche was the prettiest, even prettier than Venus
-Venus was angry and sent her son (Cupid) to make her fall in love with the
ugliest thing
-Cupid fell in love with her and ignored his mothers orders
-Psyche was told to go on top of a mountain and wait for her monster husband
- The wind blew her to a beautiful field of flowers where she found a castle,
went in and was welcomed to an invisible choir and lots of food and
drinks
-That night, in the darkness, her husband shows up and tells her to never try
to see what he looks like.
- Eventually she started feeling very lonely and convinces her lover to let her
sisters come and visit her.
- When they get to the palace they are very jealous of her posh life, and
start interrogating her about who she was married to.
- Psyche confesses that she never saw him.
- They advise her to wait until he falls asleep to then stand on him with a
lamp.
- The young princess does as instructed and finds out that her husband was
a very good looking God, Cupid.
- Some oil from the lamp fell on his skin and burned him making him wake
up.
- Cupid got furious and rushed out making everything disappear and
leaving Psyche alone.
- She then called her sisters who instead of helping her decided to try and go
on the top of the mountain to try and steal Cupid from her, they then fell
to death.
- Psyche goes to apologize with Venus and Venus gives her some tasks in
order to have Cupid back.
- she had to go to a storehouse and organize all the different kinds of
grains.
- Luckily the ants helped her and she made it before the evening.
- The second task was to collect the golden fleece from the back of the
sheeps near the river.
- Also this time he had some help by the god of water.
- Finally the last task is to go to the underworld and get some beauty in a
box from Proserpine.
- Cupid gives her advice and she makes it for the last time even though this
time was very dangerous.
- Cupid tells her not to open the box for any reason, but she is so curious
that she opens it.
- She falls in a long sleep and Cupid has to go to Zeus in order to save her.
- He gives her some Ambrosia, a liquid to make the girl immortal.
- They can finally live happy together and have a son called Voluptas.

want to teach us?
Is there a moral to this myth?
- Psyches problems are all due to the fact that she was curious and you
might know the phrase
Curiosity kills
- if she didnt open the box or tried to see the husband she wouldnt have
gone through anything that then happened to her.
- but in this myth we also encounter true love that wins upon everything..
