From Heart and Head to

Hands and Feet

Throughout history, swords have played major
roles in deciding the outcome of battles and wars. They
have conquered countries and expanded borders. Every
culture has a style of sword and a technique for its use.
They take lives, and protect lives. They are used for
offense and defense in battle. The sword is a weapon of
honor and a rite of passage. They are made to be used,
not hung on a wall. They are meant to be mastered, not
ignored and forgotten.

The Sword is mentioned over 300 times in the word of
God. The word of God also calls itself a sword, and even
sharper than a sword. The Bible says, For the word of
God is living and active, sharper than any two- edged
sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints
and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions
of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

Final Thought!

Learning to read the bible is not the end of our
training. Learning to do what it says shows the
wisdom and maturity of the Christian. I can read how
to use a sword, but until I wield it, I only know about
it. I do not truly know it.

Fight the good fight

The Apostle John begins his gospel with the words, In the
beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the
Word was God, He was with God in the beginning (John
1:1,2). How did God create? The Apostle Paul tells Timothy All
scripture is breathed out by God (2 Timothy 3:16). So His
Word created everything, which means there is power
in the Word of God, there is life in the Word of God
and there is truth in the Word
of God.

Becoming a master of the sword takes years of training.
