FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FAMILY JUSTICE CENTER SENDS KIDS TO CAMP!
SANTA ROSA, CA

According to Executive Director, Wes Winter, the Family Justice Center has been
the recipient of a monetary gift that was used to send ten children, aged 6 – 11,
to Camp Hope. Camp Hope was created especially for children living in homes
where domestic violence is the norm and who do not have access to such
outstanding program opportunities.

Camp Hope is located along Kidder Creek, near Yreka, California. It is the location
where over eight Family Justice Centers are able to send children for a one week
camp experience.

“Providing children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to engage in
such meaningful activity is one of the many reasons that the Family Justice Center
is so vital to Sonoma County”, says Ann Diem Patton, Board President.

The Family Justice Center Sonoma County incorporated in 2011, serving over
2,700 victims of family violence since that time. The FJCSC is a partnership of
eleven separate organizations, including the Sonoma County District Attorney’s
Office, nonprofit agencies, law enforcement agencies and County of Sonoma
departments.

The Family Justice Center Sonoma County empowers family violence victims to
live free from violence and abuse by providing comprehensive services, centered
on and around the victim, through a single point of access. Building on strong
interagency collaboration, the FJCSC seeks to protect the vulnerable, stop the
violence and restore hope.
