AMAR BAIL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

Nothing is deserving worship but Almighty Allah, the most Merciful, Compassionate
and Gracious. All praises for Him because He is the creator of this mysterious universe
and guides us with the Holy Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) and Holy Quran
to explore it. We supplicate that Allah grant us serenity to accept the things we cannot
change, courage to change the things we can, and wisdom to know the difference.

Person is not perfect in all the contexts of life. He has a limited mind and minor thinking
approaches. It is the mercy of Almighty Allah that shows the man light in the darkness
and the person find his way in this light. Without mercy of Allah, person is nothing but
a helpless creature. We would like to acknowledge here following persons whose
guidance helped us to lead in the positive direction in search of light in the darkness.
First of all, we would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to project
advisor Mr. Usman Sadiq. His valuable suggestions comments and in sightedness for
the project really guided and helped us to structure our project. We learnt a lot from
him and we can never forget his kindness for us. We are also very indebted to our best

Introduction
We are the students of Bachelors of Business Administration at Superior University. In our
four semester, we are studying a subject named as Leadership & Community Development.
In this subject, we have to conduct a social action program (SAP) as a final assessment. For
this purpose, we have visited multiple communities and finally we have selected the
community KHANEPAL. For resolving the problems, we have formulated a foundation
named as AMAR BAIL. It is referred to a plant which has an endless life and spread
throughout the area. Foundation is devoted to work for the development of unprivileged
communities of Pakistan.
The AMAR BAIL Foundation works with the objective to serve the community by
improving education infrastructure, women empowerment, capacity building, and better
health and environment facilities in the rural communities.

Need Assessment
Introduction of Community
KHANEPAL Pind is one of the neglected poor villages of the Lahore. It is located at
Jiabaga road off to Raiwind Road Lahore. It has around 1300 to 1500 total population
and 300 homes approximately. The people who are living over there are very poor and living
below poverty line. Mostly of them are poor farmers and rest of the people also belongs to
these types of occupation. They hardly meet their both ends through their income. 98%
people earnings are around 4 to 5 thousand for a month and forty to fifty thousand annually
which are miserably a bit low than a poverty level according to UNO because they are unable
to earn 2$ a day. Children and some other people are killing their time on roads and streets.
Following locality is never visited by any NGO or government representatives for its
betterment.
Selection of KHANEPAL PIND for our Project
The reason behind choosing it is that, this community has been totally neglected by the
government. The more interesting thing is that we are the first who approach this place for
doing something for their development. After visiting this community, we decided to work
for this community because we all observed that these people are willing to improve their
condition and they are much corporative. So, we decided to take initiative for our own level
and try to do some core improvement work in this area. This is a Need and Asset base
Community as on somewhere they have resources and at somewhere they do not have it.
Adding on, one more reason behind selection of following territory is that it is situated near

to our university hence we can easily pay our attention on daily basis moreover, we have a
strong reference over there so that we can easily approach and communicate with the people.
Mode of Survey at KHANEPAL PIND
The mode of doing survey is that first of all we all group members reached to that area and
start observing the place we decided to explore that area by observing it. In observing, we try
to determine these segments of community which are Physical, Social, Human, and
Economic and natural Infrastructure. We all groups members decided to approach
government elected representatives and elders of that society to take reviews and information
about it. We make some question statements and discuss it with them. We met with different
people of that area and ask as many as questions to them and try to get to know about the
locality and its problems in which people are suffering in. Further on, we met with Mr.
Munir who was former general counselor & native inhabitant living since infancy over
there, he shared information with us. Mr. Munir let us know some core issues which the
villagers are suffering since a long period of time. Further he insured us if you are willing to
work over here I will provide you full support of the villagers in labor and on some extent of
finance and will give my level best as he is considered one of the most honorable person in
this area and has influence all over the village. He appreciates us for what we are going to do.
He promised us to stand with us if we start the development work and definitely convince all
villagers for all these projects. Some local spoke persons and women also evaluate the current
condition of the area. In fact, we have conducted interviews with the people of that area. On
the next day, we again visited the community as Mr. Munir arranged a corner meeting of us
with the elders of the village and hear their problems so deeply. We also visited both schools

located in the community and we met with childrens and teaching staff of the school too. My
all members were with me while the time of survey. We observe a lot and serve our two days
total 19 hours in following community.
Problems of KHANEPAL PIND
After Observation continuously two days and taking information from property dealers,
elders, government representative and common people, we identified following problems:-

Action Plan for KHANEPAL Pind
Introduction of our selected work
After Visiting and Meeting with former Counselor Mr. Munir Bhatti, and some other
villagers we all group members identifies some main problems of this community which
must have to solved for making this community a well-developed community. Our focusing
areas which need development are divided in to 3 major parts and these 3 major parts are
further divided into some more parts which cover some aspects. According to our personal
observation and plan of action we are focusing on the many aspects of the community
development and this upgrading give long term benefits to the society.

Bus Stop (Phase 1)
Introduction and reason of doing Bus Stop
First of all we group members decided to work on the main Bus stop of Khanepal
Pind. This reason behind doing this work very firstly is that it is near the main
entrance of the Pind and it is totally neglected. The villagers while giving interview
tells us that the public who are waiting there in early morning are suffering by
standing there till the bus or van came. The government or any other resource person
of society are not focusing on this bus stop that why we want to improve the condition
of this bus stop so then many of the villagers who use bus stop could be able get better
facility. One more reason of doing the maintenance of this Bus stop is that it is near
the main entrance of community and we decided to give a new look to the community
and this Bus stop after maintenance helps to give the new look to the entrance of the
community.

Mode of Doing the Work on Bus Stop
Work Implementation of Phase 1
The work implementation means that how we convert our words in to action for Bus Stop
Renovation by following method:-
First of all we decided to do paint there, we take one Paint Big Tin and we observe that
this is enough for whole bus stop. The labor we hired from inside the pind, actually we
got this proposal for this Bus Stop from Mr.Munir Bhatti who is a honorable Villager and
Former consular of this community.
Secondly, we group members observe that this Bus stop needed cement Plaster because
the condition of bus stop is very poor, it is very important to do a cement plaster before
doing paint otherwise only paint is not helpful. We take labor inside the Pind and give
him the cost of doing his wok.
Thirdly, the bus stop have no proper sitting arrangement, we group members decided to
arrange the sitting in Bus Stop of 10 people. Actually we decided to make cement chairs
there and the reason of cement chairs are there sustainability.
Fourthly, decoration of the Bus Stop is very important so than it looks like a Proper Bus
Stop we decide to arrange some flowers pot there which gives a sweet fragrance there.
Fifth is the Board of the Bus stop which is the very important part of the public which we
build on the roof of the bus stop which is also include in the awareness of the public about
Bus Stop.

Education Sector (Phase 2)
Education is the backbone of any community and plays golden hand in the development and
success of any community thats why we focus on the improvement and up-gradation of the
schools of that community.
Mode of Doing the Work on Education Sector

Water Cooler with Filter
After visiting this school we observe that the school childrens are not getting clean water.
The taps attached with the washrooms water are using for drinking purpose which affect the
health of the student and many types of disease are born which badly impact on their health.
We decided to give a water cooler with filter to the students of this school so then these
students save their health and absenteeism are controlled.

Enhance Enrollment of boys and girls
Secondly we will focus on the boys and girls of this community who are not going to school
and we try to find the reasons behind not going to school. Our main objective is to motivate
the parents of these childrens for the admission of these childrens who are not going to
school and our focus is that all the children who are not going to school must join school.
Paint Job
Thirdly In education sector we group members observe that school outside boundaries need
improvement in which some motivational wording must written there who motivate the
students and students of that school, its also improve the look of the school which directly
attract the parents of the childrens who are not going to school by this our objective of
enrollment is also improvement and enhance enrollment of new students.
Furniture
The furniture provided by the government to the both schools ten years ago and reached to its
life span. We will also fulfill their missing furniture facility as most of the students sit on the
floor and have no proper sitting place for study. And also refurnish the entire condition of
furniture so that children can get proper sitting facility for education on equal level.
White Boards
We will also provide white boards and display boards to all the classes of both school as they
were using technique of black boards and the conditions of these boards was very annoying
as these boards do not have proper plan surface to write on it. Secondly, we will also provide
display boards to each class so that they can display their work on it which will motivate
students towards education.
Uniforms and Copies
As most of the students belong to poor family which lives below the poverty line but they
have an urge for education. Thus, they came to school without proper uniform. They are so
poor that they even dont have enough money to buy a copy. Thus, we will provide a stock of
copies at least for six months.
Fans
Classrooms infrastructure is in very bad condition even that they lack basic facilities like light
and fans. Fans and lights are important for any school especially for the schools which have

been located in the warm areas of Punjab. We will also provide them this facility to enhance
their learning environment.
Dustbins and Motivational Boards
Children are the future of any nation and if these children get proper education then he or she
can become a value able person of the society. We saw that there is no dustbins for the
garbage in the classrooms as well as in the school and most of the time students have clean
their school. We will provide dustbins to each class and educate students to dispose of their
garbage in dustbins. We will also fix some motivational as well educational boards in both
schools so that students get inspired from it.

Environment& Awareness (Phase 3)

Clean Environment Campaign
We group members observe that this community need clean community awareness campaign
so we group members decided to set a clean environment Campaign in which we aware the
people to clean there society and aware them to through their waste in Dustbin and, we make
it confirmed that Lahore development Authority come daily and take the waste of that Bins
with them. We aware people by different ways:-

As this community is less educated and lived in the village therefore, they are very simple
and have no proper awareness about cleanliness and hygienic conditions. They even dont
have basic health awareness therefore; we will run a basic health awareness campaign with
team of doctors from the Jinnah Hospital Lahore which will educate and provide them basic
health awareness door to door, children to children, and women to women, and men to men.
