The building that houses LINCOLN HALL fi rst

opened in 1912 as the Fullerton Theatre, a


nickelodeon, and most recently the 3 Penny
Cinema. October 2009 saw LINCOLN HALL open
after a yearlong renovation and it has quickly
become one of Chicagos premiere venues.

Designed by Frommann & Jebsen in the German
Renaissance Revival style, SCHUBAS TAVERN was built
in 1903 as part of Schlitz Brewery's Chicago tied house
project. In 1988 the Schuba brothers acquired the building
and completed an extensive restoration, recapturing the
essence of the historic past it once represented. The
Commission on Chicago Landmarks has designated
SCHUBAS TAVERN for historic landmark status in 2011.
