Initial Research

Invisible Cities

Rebecca Patterson
Initial Ideas
Choosing Baucis felt like the easiest decision I’ve made so far after
reading the extract from the book ‘invisible cities’ I was instantly
drawn to it more than the other cities mainly because of the houses
on stilts, soon after my thumbnails for the city proved to be
strongest and personally my favorite.
From the start I knew that I wanted
the houses to be rather small,
somehow hut like and for them to
reside in the snowy mountains just
to emphasize how high up they really
are.
Environment
All throughout my thumbnails I was
maybe more aware or the city’s
environment than the city itself,
testing out different mountain
ranges and snowy landscapes
Thumbnails of mine and
examples of mountain peaks I
looked at.
